In today’s world, to be able to put your point of view across is an indispensible skill. The City School provides the students with a forum where they can pit their debating skills against their peers and convert the audience to their viewpoint. The topic for this year’s debate between Class 5 and Class 6 was “Television – a bad influence”. Six speakers from each grade spoke “for” and “against”. Using interesting and highly original arguments and rebuttals, the students tried to persuade the judges towards their point of view. In the end Class 5, the “for” team won the debate. The topic for this year’s debate of Class 7 and Class 8 versus Class 10 was “Freedom brings responsibility”. With their strong arguments and oratorical skills, Class 10 managed to win the judges over to their point of view and emerged the winners.
